Green Mountain Antibodies Is Expanding

POSTED on June 6, 2012

On April 1, 2012 (exactly 16 years after opening our door for business on April 1, 1996) Green Mountain Antibodies signed a long-term lease for an additional 2400 sq. ft. of laboratory space in the historic Chace Mill in Burlington. The new space will contain an expanded tissue culture area, additional space for research and product line development, more space for protein analytical instrumentation, and space for our growing molecular biology program. Consistent with our current space, there will be lots of white boards for visual information management and floor plans based on our lean manufacturing efforts.

Chace Mill was built in the 19th century as part of the complex of buildings that processed wool at the Winooski Falls on the Winooski River between Burlington and Colchester. “Winooski” is derived from the Abenaki word “Winoskik” from Winos (wild leek or onion) and –ik (place). Built of wood, brick, and stone, the building now houses many start up technology businesses including Green Mountain Antibodies, 89 North, PKC Corporation, as well as Laughing River Yoga, Urban Moonshine Natural Products, and several professional service offices and art studios.
